The ASEAN Secretariat has requested expert assistance to research and deepen Member States’ understanding of provisions that promote the participation of marginalized groups in trade. The technical assistance includes preparing a research paper on inclusive trade provisions in trade agreements, including their history, trends, impact, and gender equality considerations. It also involves designing and conducting a seminar for ASEAN trade officials to present the research findings and allow Member States to discuss and develop consensus negotiating positions and trade policies that benefit marginalized groups and promote economic growth, prosperity, and poverty reduction in the region.
